You can take Diltiazem with or without food.

Take your Diltiazem exactly as your doctor prescribes.

The usual starting dose is 120mg per day in divided doses.

Your doctor will assess your results and could adjust your dose up or down as needed.

You should not use Diltiazem if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Hypotension (less than 90 mm Hg systolic)
  • AV block (second or third-degree) without a functioning pacemaker
  • Sick Sinus Syndrome without a functioning pacemaker
  • Known hypersensitivity to Diltiazem or any of the inactive ingredients

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering becoming pregnant, talk to your doctor about the risks of using Diltiazem.
