What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Description

If you have type 2 diabetes mellitus, your doctor may prescribe Jentadueto in combination with diet and exercise. This medication is not effective for people with type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition recognized with blood testing, but you should tell your doctor if you have unexplained weight loss, excessive thirst, excessive urination, or fatigue.

Directions

Jentadueto is taken by mouth twice daily. Do not adjust the medication without speaking with your healthcare provider.

Ingredients

Jentadueto is a combination drug that contains metformin and linagliptin.

Linagliptin is a DPP4 inhibitor, which means that it can increase certain enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract that affect glucose processing. It ultimately increases levels of insulin and decreases levels of glucose.

Metformin works in the liver to lower the amount of glucose it makes. It also makes other cells of the body more sensitive to insulin.
