What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Ezallor sprinkle capsules is a formulation of rosuvastatin that can be used by people with problems swallowing. It is designed to be opened and sprinkled on food or swallowed whole.

Ezallor is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, or "statin, " that corrects poor cholesterol. It should be used along with diet and exercise to help reduce the long-term risk of heart attack and stroke.

It is indicated to treat adults with hypertriglyceridemia, adults with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (type III hyperlipoproteinemia), and adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH).

The dosage of Ezallor ranges from 5-40 mg by mouth once daily. The capsule can be swallowed whole, or it can be opened and sprinkled on food. The food should be eaten within 60 minutes of mixing and cannot be saved for later administration.


The active ingredient in Ezallor is Rosuvastatin.

A rare but serious side effect of statin medication is myopathy and rhabdomyolysis. Primary symptoms include muscle pain, weakness, and dark urine. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience these side effects.
