Is Tresiba Insulin

It’s a fairly common understanding that the branded names for drugs can sound awfully odd and colorful to people, so you’re forgiven if you’ve heard the name for any one of them and said ‘What?’ afterwards. Same goes for if you’re a little perplexed with all the different types of insulins out there and you’re left asking is Tresiba insulin? The answer to that is that yes, it is an insulin and it’s a long-acting insulin if we want to get technical about it.

So while we fully agree that it sound like it could be a new type of artificial sweetener like Aspartame or whatever else it might be that comes to mind – it’s insulin and it’s one of the most commonly prescribed ones for people who need a long-acting one. Which isn’t going to be the majority of people with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes in America. They’ll be taking mealtime insulins everyday, and these types of medications are called fast acting insulins or rapid acting insulins too.

Now let’s be fair, everyone loves to eat. That’s natural, but what’s NOT natural is the standard American diet these days. That can probably be expanded to be the standard NORTH American diet in all fairness, because it’s not like Canadians eat significantly better than Americans do. For the most part, they don’t and even though that’s irrelevant to is Tresiba insulin.

It’s kind of interesting that if we take the acronym for that diet it is SAD. Now I suppose it depends on your perspective, but the fact that so many people develop diabetes because of the SAD is, in fact, kind of sad. You can love to eat, but you should also eat in at least some semblance of the way you were intended to eat as a human being.

Yes, none of this has anything to do with a question on is Tresiba insulin, but it’s worth noting that there’s a lot to be said for not becoming diabetic in the first place.

Quality Extended Blood Sugar Control

So to get back to topic with is Tresiba insulin somewhat, here’s why it’s not going to be the correct insulin for a lot of people. As we touched on there, most diabetics will need a mealtime insulin. That’s because their risk from high blood sugar is greatest after they’ve eaten a meal. They need a more immediate insulin supply and the ability to have a good and fast acting response to it.

If you’re prescribed Tresiba or Tresiba Generic – the less expensive version of the same drug – then your physician has identified your experience with diabetes is different from the majority. You need an insulin that provides a slower and more extended release of the medication so that your blood sugar is more balanced throughout the day. Is Tresiba insulin? It certainly is, and it’s the longest acting one.

Here’s something for you to read if you’re inclined to know more about the different types of insulin, but we’ll stay on track here and only talk about Tresiba.

Benefits of Tresiba Insulin Pen

More and more diabetics prefer an epi pen to the standard syringe and vial that diabetics have been working with for well more than half a century now. And if you’re a person whose career or lifestyle keeps you on the move most of the time then an insulin epi pen may be the only way for you to go. In addition to asking is Tresiba insulin, some folks will want to know if a Tresiba insulin pen is the best insulin epi pen.

The consensus seems to be there’s no one best product or model, and that most epi pens have the same level of functionality and performance as far as delivering a dose of insulin is concerned.

What we can say about Tresiba generic or the branded version of it is that it’s

  1. A more ‘forgiving’ insulin, and
  1. An ‘ultra’ long-acting insulin

The second part of that is probably easier to understand, but what’s the deal with this insulin being more forgiving? Allow us to explain. Tresiba is the only basal insulin that gives adult patients the option to make unexpected changes to the timing of their doses. If you miss a dose, it’s less of a problem with Tresiba. You just need to take it during waking hours as soon as you’re aware that you missed an injection. Then after that you can continue with your dosing schedule as it was before.

And as far being ultra long acting, Tresiba provides up to 48-hours of working time balancing out your blood sugar levels. Most other long acting insulins only give you 24 hours. Is Tresiba insulin? It is, and it’s the longest of long-acting insulins if that’s what you need.
