Blood sugar is also called blood glucose, and the fact that glucose is sugar should make it mostly clear to people which foods to avoid with Trulicity. That’s because Trulicity is a blood sugar control medication for Type 2 diabetics and most people will be aware of foods are higher in sugar content. Some of them are obvious, like sweets for example. The worst food for a diabetic to eat often is anything that consists of white grains. So what foods should you avoid when taking Trulicity is a topic that is worthy of discussion, and so that’s where we’re going with this blog entry.

Fiber is front and center here, and the way that dietary fiber is very important for people is common knowledge. Fiber is not digested by the body, and this is helpful in many ways. One of them is in the way that fiber slows digestion, but the white grains found in pasta, rice, and white bread are a problem because the fiber has been removed. This works out to nothing slowing the digestive process and this means that blood sugar is likely to be higher. These are the eats we will look at first with foods to avoid with Trulicity.

Then come the usual suspects. Sugary drinks like Coke or other types of soda pop will rush your blood sugar up no matter how effective a Type 2 diabetes treatment medication works, and then the unhealthiness of fast food is something that everyone is aware of. All fast foods are among foods to avoid with Trulicity, and the way the refined carbohydrates in these meals are usually paired with sugar drinks is why they are a problem in the way that they are.

Limit Fruit

Moderation is usually advisable, and when you are a diabetic using a medication like Trulicity you should also eat fruit in moderation. Fructose is sugar, and consuming more than a moderate serving of fruit can result in high blood sugar levels. Pineapples, mangoes, and plums are included in fruits that are high in sugar, so we can add those in foods to avoid with Trulicity too. You should eat fruit, but just be mindful of how much of it you’re eating.

Foods to avoid with Trulicity will also include starchy vegetables, and potatoes are at the front of the pack. Potatoes are darn good and a hardy crop but as a starchy vegetable it is speedily and reliably converted into sugar by the body as digestion progresses. It is okay to eat some potatoes in the same way it is to eat some fruit, but just be aware that a lot of either of them will probably be pushing up blood sugar levels. A Type 2 Diabetes friendly diet as an overall way to eat healthily for diabetics may be a smart choice for you.
