Vaping is a healthier alternative if you must smoke, but it’s uncommon to see an older person vaping if they are going to have a puff. It’s best not to smoke or vape at all, but it’s also understandable that young people are experiencing life and experimenting in it and many of us smoked briefly when we were younger too. It’s also when they’re young that people can get bad acne. Vaping is better than smoking cigarettes, but like all things it should be done in moderation. It’s still harmful for your lungs, and some may also wonder does vaping cause acne.

Vaping does not cause acne, but it does dehydrate the skin and overall make the skin age more quickly too. Especially if you vape heavily on a daily basis. Propylene glycol is found in all e-liquids and it pulls moisture from the skin. Skin dehydration does not mean that the sebaceous glands produce more sebum or that pores are more likely to become clogged. But long-term dehydration means skin will age prematurely. That’s the basics for does vaping cause acne, but the biggest health concern with vaping is developing popcorn lung

Read into that and it should be convincing enough to quit vaping in the same way other risks make people quit smoking. But for can vaping cause acne it is not likely that is the connection. It is more likely that you have clogged pores for other reasons and you may have more sebum because of the foods you eat and / or you are not washing your face at night with an astringent cleaner.

Think about Scarring

Vaping can also make skin wounds heal less effectively, and this means if you vape and get acne you need to think about acne scars too. They will heal less thoroughly and take longer to disappear if your skin is damaged from long-term vaping, and this is another reason why you should try to control yourself and vape less frequently. If you enjoy it so much that you need to do it at least sometimes, at least try to do it much less. If you have strong addictive urges you can try TFT therapy as a way to overcome addictive urges.

Looking at what causes acne, we can see the does vaping cause acne isn’t part of it. You can use an acne treatment medication if you do get acne and you are a vaper, but there’s no connection to does vaping cause acne. If you vape and you find your skin is more prone to breakouts it certainly can’t hurt to quit or at least vape less often and see whether there’s an improvement. Your lungs will thank you too, and always keep in mind that you are likely going to need to quit one day anyway. Get it over with and be in better health.
