Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Before the first use, shake the bottle well. Hold it upright, inserting the nozzle into one nostril while pressing the other closed. Keep your head tilted slightly forward. The standard dosage for adults and children aged 12 and older is 110 mcg, which equals two sprays of 27.5 mcg in each nostril once daily. For younger children aged 2 to 11, the usual dose is one spray per nostril daily, equaling 55 mcg. It's important to keep the nozzle clean and to prime it if it hasn't been used in several days. Avoid spraying it directly onto the nasal septum.
The active ingredient in Veramyst is fluticasone furoate.
Avoid using Veramyst if you have a known hypersensitivity to fluticasone furoate.
The most common side effects of Veramyst Nasal Spray include headache, nosebleeds, sore throat, and nasal sores, especially in adults and adolescents. Children aged 2 to 12 may also experience fever, cough, or back pain. These effects are usually mild but should be reported if they persist or worsen.
Serious side effects may include fungal infections like thrush, nasal septum perforation (a hole in the nasal cartilage), or slow wound healing. Veramyst can also raise the risk of eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts and may cause allergic reactions with symptoms like swelling, itching, or trouble breathing. In rare cases, it may affect the immune system or adrenal glands, increasing the risk of infections or causing fatigue, nausea, or weakness. Children using Veramyst should have their growth monitored regularly.
