What is a Generic Drug?

Description

Tylenol Extra Strength is a widely recognized over-the-counter (OTC) medication used to alleviate a range of common aches and discomforts. The main pain-relieving ingredient is acetaminophen, Tylenol should only be used as a temporary remedy for pain management.

The active ingredient, acetaminophen, works by interfering with pain signals in the brain called prostaglandins. It also helps to lower fever and ease mild to moderate pain associated with headaches, muscle aches, backaches, and toothaches.

Directions

Take Tylenol extra strength exactly as directed by your prescriber or the directions on the box.

The usual directions are 1000 mg every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. Do not take more than 3000 mg in a day.

Cautions
