What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Description

Slynd is an estrogen-free oral contraceptive that offers women reliable birth control plus being better suited for women who need a birth control pill without estrogen. Slynd is a POP birth control pill, indicating that it contains only progestin as the medication’s hormone. Slynd is also a flexible birth control pill option with a 24-hour dosing window, meaning it is less of a problem if you miss a dose for whatever reason. It also a birth control pill that establishes a more regular menstrual cycle, and women can buy Slynd birth control with a prescription at most pharmacies.

Directions

Slynd or Slynd generic is to be taken as one pill every day. One tablet is taken daily for 28 consecutive days, and with one white active tablet taken for the first 24 days, followed by one green inactive tablet daily for the last 4 day of a 7 weekdays x 4 cycle. If 2 or more doses are missed (white tablets – first 24 days of month) then take the last missed tablet as soon as you can. You can then get back to taking one tablet per day until the pack is finished, but for continued pregnancy prevention you should use an additional non-hormonal contraception method (condom most commonly) if participating in sexual intercourse any time for 7 days following missing those tablets.
