What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Salicylix is available in a tube. 

It is recommended to apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected area(s) of the skin. 

Salicylix should be applied to clean, dry skin of the affected area(s).

Avoid getting the ointment in your eyes or mouth. You should not apply the ointment to genital warts, facial warts, warts with hair, warts in the nose or mouth, or moles.

Avoid applying other topical medications to the same area where Salicylix was applied.

Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in Salicylix.

Cautions

  • Before beginning treatment with Salicylix, tell your doctor if you:
    • Have any allergies
    • Take any medications, including other topical medications
    • Have any health problems or conditions
    • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • It is not recommended to use Salicylix ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you have an allergy to salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients contained in the ointment, you should avoid using Salicylix ointment.

Side Effects

Tell your doctor if you experience troublesome or persistent side effects. Salicylix ointment can cause skin irritation, stinging, rash, skin color or texture changes, or skin redness.
