Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Rybelsus is a GLP-receptor agonist prescription medication. It is used for treatment of Type 2 diabetes and works to manage blood sugar levels. It functions very differently from similar diabetes medications, particularly with its unique 3-way approach to lowering blood sugar. The advantage of Rybelsus is with how it promotes increased insulin production from the pancreas, reduces the amount of sugar released from the liver, and slows the release of food from the stomach after a meal.
GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like Peptide 1, and Rybelsus mimics your body’s naturally occurring GLP-1 to lower blood sugar. Rybelsus is not suited as a primary treatment for Type 2 diabetes, and instead should be added as a supplement to other primary diabetic medications when advised to do so by a physician.
Take Rybelsus on an empty stomach shortly after you wake up. Take this diabetes medication with no more than 4 ounces of water. Wait one half-hour (30 min.) before eating, drinking, or taking other medications. It is okay to miss a dose, but be sure to take your next dose of Rybelsus at the same the next day.
The active ingredient in Rybelsus for Type 2 diabetes is Semaglutide.
Refrain from use of Rybelsus as a blood sugar lowering medication in either situation; if you or any of your family have ever had MTC, or if you have an endocrine system condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
Avoid using Rybelsus is you are allergic to Semaglutide or any of the ingredients in this Type 2 diabetes medication.
Keep Rybelsus tablets in the blister pack until you will be taking them / Push tablet out of blister. Do not cut from the packaging / Swallow tablet whole with cutting, crushing, or chewing.
Store at room temperature 68°F–77°F (20°C–25°C).
Store in a dry place without moisture.
Side effects related to the use of this blood sugar lowering medication are uncommon. However, some may experience nausea, stomach (abdominal) pain, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, and constipation.
Should these symptoms or more serious ones occur, then you must discontinue use of the medication immediately and meet with your doctor again to discuss other blood glucose lowering medication options.
