What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Prinzide is a prescription medication for lowering high blood pressure and protecting against heart failure for people at risk of it because of blood pressure levels. It is part of the ACE inhibitor class of drugs that work by relaxing blood vessels so the heart's workload is lowered, and the HCTZ in the medication control blood pressure by eliminating excess salt and water in the body. Prinzide is an effective medication for treating high blood pressure, but it often takes patients up to one month of medication use before they start to see significantly lower blood pressure numbers.

You can buy Prinzide with a prescription, and your best price on it will be when you order medication online from Canada Drugs Direct.

The standard Prinzide dosages for both the 10mg and 20mg tablets is one of two times daily as directed by your doctor. Once you are prescribed and buy Prinzide, then the medication may be taken with or without food and it is best to take it at the same time each day. Lower doses may be indicated for anyone with kidney disease.

The active ingredients in Prinzide are Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide.
