Description

Pifeltro is an antiviral used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection in adults. Your doctor may prescribe this drug as part of a regimen if you have never received treatment before. It can also be used to replace the current regimen in people with suppressed viral load.

Pifeltro works by preventing the replication of HIV viral particles. Pifeltro works to slow and potentially suppress the ongoing infection by stopping viral replication.

Directions

Take Pifeltro as part of a regimen for the treatment of HIV infection. Do not stop taking this drug without speaking with your doctor first.

The usual dosage is 100 mg by mouth once daily. The dose may be increased for people taking rifabutin to 100 mg twice daily.

This drug can be taken with or without food.
