PerioGard should be used as directed by your dentist. It is recommended to swish 15 mL of the rinse in the mouth twice daily for 30 seconds, then spit it out.
PerioGard oral rinse should be kept between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F) and away from children’s reach.

Chlorhexidine gluconate is the active ingredient in PerioGard.
The inactive ingredients in the base include the following: water, propylene glycol, glycerin, sorbitol, polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil, flavor, cetylpyridinium chloride, and FD&C blue no. 1.
Do not use PerioGard if you have an allergy to chlorhexidine gluconate or to any of the other ingredients contained in PerioGard.
Some, but not all, side effects associated with PerioGard include staining of the teeth and other oral surfaces, increased calculus formation, and changes in taste.
