Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
One Touch Verio is a glucometer, which is a device that measures blood sugar.
Certain conditions require that a person measures their blood sugar regularly throughout the day. Blood sugar that is too high or too low can be dangerous.
People with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and some people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus need to measure their blood sugar, sometimes multiple times per day.
To successfully use One Touch Verio, a person needs the following:
Blood sugar should be measured several times as determined by your healthcare provider. It is usually measured between one to four times daily.
Speak with your doctor or pharmacist for instructions on measuring your blood sugar at home.
Talk with your healthcare provider to determine which ranges are low and which are high for you. The meter is preset to a low limit of 70 mg/dL and a high limit of 180 mg/dL.
Do not change your diabetes regimen without consulting your healthcare provider first.
If you are getting several unexpected results, use the control solution to calibrate your device and meter.
Always check the expiration date on your control solution and test strips and never use them if they are expired.
Do not share the lancing device with anyone. Use each lancet only one time.
Wash the testing site with warm water and soap before testing.
