A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

A fabric mask is helpful to prevent the spread of coronavirus by limiting exposure of it to others if you are a carrier of the virus. Again, keep in mind it is possible to have coronavirus and not be aware of it - an asymptomatic carrier. The only type of virus face mask that will preventing contracting the virus is an N95 mask or a full respirator type mask, and that type of mask is to large and cumbersome to be worn in everyday life.
Some people will ask ‘what about surgical masks’, and do surgical masks protect against coronavirus? As we discussed above here, a surgical mask or bandana will not protect you from inhaling coronavirus. It will prevent you from transmitting the virus if you are an asymptomatic carrier, and so they do have some benefit.
There’s not much to say for where to buy an N95 mask. The situation currently is that these masks are needed for frontline healthcare workers around the word and that of course has to be the priority. You may be able to find them online or at a home hardware retailer if they might have some stock in the store.
The good news in regards to where to buy N95 mask is that countries all around the world are ramping up their own production, and there may be more quality coronavirus face masks available to consumers before long.
