What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Monistat is a non-prescription cream used to treat vaginal yeast infections. It is an azole antifungal medication that stops the growth of yeast causing the infection with buildup up on tissue walls. Use of Monistat itch cream for vaginal yeast infections allows women to experience less of the burning, itching, and vaginal discharge that are symptoms of this type of infection. The cream is applied topically, and most women will begin to experience relief shortly after beginning use.

You can buy Monistat vaginal cream without a prescription, and your best price on it will be when you order medication online from us.

Wash hands thoroughly before use.

Load applicator with amount of Monistat cream that is specified in your prescription. This dosage amount shouldn’t be exceeded, and if medication is ineffective you will need to meet with your doctor or pharmacist again.

Standard dosage schedule will have you administering Monistat itch cream at bedtime.

Lie on your back with your knees toward your chest.

Insert the applicator filled with medication as far as possible, but not to the point of being uncomfortable.

Slowly press the plunger of the applicator in to apply the full dose of the ointment. Monistat external cream can also be applied to more exterior regions if symptoms are experienced externally.

Avoid use of tampons, douches, spermicides, or other vaginal products while using this medication.

Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve after 3 days or lasts more than 7 days. Tell your doctor know if your infection returns within 2 months.

The active ingredient in Monistat is Tioconazole.

Inform your doctor of any history of diabetes, immune system disorders like HIV, or have had frequent vaginal yeast infections before starting to use Monistat itch cream for yeast infections.

Understand that this cream may weaken barrier contraception methods like condoms or IUDs, and pregnancy prevention choices should be made accordingly because of this.

Medication is for topical use in the genital region only and should not be applied to any other area of the body. Do not apply anywhere near eyes, ears, mouth, and nostrils at all times.

Never exceed dosage regulations. If medication is ineffective for getting rid of yeast infection you should speak to your doctor again regarding treatment alternatives.

Negative drug interactions are possible between Monistat and other Rx or OTC medications, including prednisone / cyclosporine / methotrexate. You can discuss all medications you are currently taking with a pharmacist before going to buy Monistat vaginal cream.

Side Effects
