What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Maxidex is an eye drop medication that your doctor may prescribe to treat one of the following:

  • Otic (ear) inflammation

Maxidex is an anti-inflammatory medication that reduces the pain and inflammation in the eye. It works by suppressing certain cells of the immune system, reducing the signals used by the immune system.

Do not touch the tip of the dropper to the eye because it can contaminate the bottle with bacteria and lead to an eye infection.

Prolonged use of this drug can lead to suppression of the immune system.

Use caution if you have an allergy to sulfites.
