What is a Generic Drug?

Description

Imunovir is prescribed for the treatment of herpes simplex virus, genital warts, and subacute sclerosing panencephalitis.

Imunovir comes in 500 mg tablets for oral administration.

Ingredients

Inosine Acedoben Dimepranol is found in Imunovir.

Povidone, mannitol, wheat starch, and magnesium stearate are the inactive ingredients included.

Cautions

  • Before you start taking Imunovir, discuss the following with your doctor:

  • Uric acid levels can increase with Imunovir use.
  • Imunovir can cause hypersensitivity reactions, including hives, angioedema (swelling), and anaphylaxis. If you experience any signs or symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, or tongue; or a rash, immediately seek emergency care.
  • What starch is found in Imunovir; however, it has very low levels of gluten that is highly unlikely to cause issues in patients with celiac disease. However, it is recommended that you avoid taking Imunovir if you have an allergy to wheat (different from celiac disease).

Side Effects

Possible Imunovir side effects include, but are not limited to, headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, stomach discomfort, rash, itching, fatigue, increased uric acid levels, and increased liver enzymes.
