What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Evenity is a prescription osteoporosis treatment injection that helps to slow bone mass loss for women after menopause and lower their risk for major bone fractures. It will be prescribed for women who have more risk of these fractures plus have had insufficient results from oral menopause medications that counter osteoporosis progression well for most women by providing estrogen replacement. The active ingredient in Evenity is Romosozumab and it strengthens bones directly by blocking the function of a protein called sclerostin and stopping osteoclasts from breaking down old bones and reducing the structural integrity of them.

You can buy Evenity injection with a prescription and your best price on it will be when you order medication online from Canada Drugs Direct.

Evenity is given as 2 injections that are administered in immediate succession (one after the other) one time each month.

Injection can be made into the thigh, back of upper arm, or abdomen (but not within a 2” radius around the navel).

Do not put the gray needle cap back onto the syringe.
