Endometrin Vaginal Insert should be used as your doctor has instructed. You may speak with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.

Start using Endometrin Vaginal Insert the day after oocyte retrieval by inserting Endometrin 100 mg into the vagina two to three times a day. Continue treatment for up to 10 weeks.

Ingredients

The active ingredient contained in Endometrin Vaginal Insert is progesterone. Lactose monohydrate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, adipic acid, sodium bicarbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, pregelatinized starch, and colloidal silicon dioxide are the inactive ingredients.

Contraindications

If you have an allergy to progesterone or any other ingredients contained in the insert, you should not use Endometrin Vaginal Insert.

If you have a known missed abortion or ectopic pregnancy, liver disease, or breast cancer, or if you have or have had blood clots, you should not use Endometrin Vaginal Insert.

Cautions

  • Before you begin treatment with Endometrin Vaginal Insert, tell your doctor:
    • About all prescription and nonprescription medications you take
    • If you have any allergies
    • About your current health conditions and past medical history
    • About your pregnancy/breastfeeding status
  • Endometrin can cause blood clots.
  • Patients who have a history of depression should be closely monitored.
  • Other vaginal products can affect Endometrin’s absorption, so avoid using them while being treated with this medication.

Side effects associated with Endometrin Vaginal Insert include post oocyte retrieval pain, stomach pain, nausea, and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. If you experience side effects that concern you or won’t go away, immediately talk to your doctor.
