Uncap the pen by twisting off base cap and throw it away. Do not put the base cap back on.

Doses loaded into pen (with first ‘click’) must be injected at that time. Allowing them to remain loaded into the pen but not injected will cause the medication to spoil.
Only inject medication at one of the 4 suitable injection locations indicated above, and do not inject at the same injection repeatedly to avoid the risk of developing lipodystrophy.
