What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Description

Ecoza (econazole nitrate) is an azole antifungal used for the treatment of interdigital tinea pedis (athlete's foot) in patients who are 12 years of age and older.

Directions

Ecoza is supplied as a 1% foam. Ecoza should be applied to the skin only. Avoid getting this medication in the eyes, nose, mouth, or inside the vagina.

Clean and dry the affected area(s). Shake the container well. Apply the medication to the affected area(s) as instructed by your doctor, typically once a day for 4 weeks. 

Wash your hands after applying the medication. You should not wrap, cover, or bandage the area unless your doctor has instructed you to do so.

Ingredients

Each gram of Ecoza topical foam, 1% contains 10 mg of econazole.

Cautions

  • Before you start using Ecoza topical foam, talk to your doctor about your medical history, allergies, and medications.
  • The contents contained in Ecoza are flammable. Avoid smoking or being near open flames while applying the medication and right after you apply it.
  • Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
  • Let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

Side Effects

Burning, irritation, redness, or stinging may occur at the site of application. Contact your doctor right away if these side effects worsen or persist.

Seek medical care immediately if you develop a rash, breathing problems, dizziness, or itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat as these could be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
