What is a Generic Drug?

Description

Deplin is a medical food product that should be used under the supervision of a physician or other healthcare professional. It is available for supplementation when folate cannot be obtained through normal modification to the diet.

Deplin is indicated to treat hyperhomocysteinemia in schizophrenia and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Deplin helps to correct nutritional deficiencies that arise within these conditions.

These conditions are sometimes known to also have nutrient deficiencies that can be treated with a medical food product like Deplin.

Deplin is available in Deplin 7.5 mg capsules and Deplin 15 mg capsules.

Take Deplin precisely as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Deplin should not be used without the supervision of a healthcare professional.

The usual dosage is 7.5-15 mg by mouth once daily. Take Deplin with or without food. 

Ingredients

Deplin generic contains the active ingredient L-methylfolate. L-methylfolate is an active form of folic acid that is readily absorbed in the brain.
