What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

1. How Should I Take Cialis, and How Often?

Cialis is an easy-to-swallow tablet and you need to do nothing more than take it orally and swallow it with water. It can be taken with food or without, but it is recommended to NOT take Cialis with an especially large meal. Moderate alcohol consumption is okay, but excessive consumption may reduce the effectiveness of the medication.

2. How Long Before Sex Should I Take Cialis?

If you are using Cialis 10mg or Cialis 20mg then you should take ONE tablet at least half an hour before you expect to begin intimacy. If you are using Cialis Daily, you will be taking the medication once a day at the same time everyday and doing so whether you foresee having sex or not. Cialis Daily provides 24-hour erectile potency.

3. How Long Does Cialis Last For?

Cialis last for up to 36 hours after taking the medication. Cialis Daily provides ongoing erectile difficulty support with day-to-day increased responsiveness to stimulation provided you take the medication exactly as directed.

4. How Often Should I Take Cialis?

With the exception of Cialis Daily (one tablet taken at the same time everyday), Cialis should NOT be taken any more than once in a 24-hour period. Also be aware that you may be advised by your physician to wait a full 24 hours or longer before taking your next dose of the medication.

5. Can I Be Assured of Getting an Erection with Cialis?

No, you can not count on getting an erection simply because you have taken the medication. Cialis can be relied on to facilitate or enhance the chemical mechanisms in the body that promote blood flow to the penis, but in order for that to happen the man must still experience sexual stimulation.

6. Can Cialis Be Used Recreationally?

No, Cialis is only to be used when prescribed by a physician and explicitly for treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is not designed for use enhancing the erection response and duration for men who are not suffering from ED, and should not be used for this aim.

7. Are There Potential Side Effects with Using Cialis?

Cialis is a safe erectile dysfunction medication that is US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved. Men can take it with the guarantee that it is entirely safe, but there is the chance of side effects. These potential effects are listed above on this same page.

8. What’s in Cialis?

The active ingredient in Cialis is Tadalafil, which is a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate. Each tablet contains 2.5, 5, 10, or 20mg of tadalafil plus croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, iron oxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, titanium dioxide, and triacetin.

9. How Do I Get a Prescription for Cialis?

The only way to get a prescription for Cialis is to visit a physician and have them write the prescription for you once they haver determined you are a suitable candidate for the medication and that it will be safe for you to take it.

10. Is a Generic Equivalent of Cialis Available?

Yes, there is a generic version of Cialis that is available with the same prescription written for branded Cialis. It is your choice whether you would prefer to receive branded Cialis or the less expensive generic Cialis.

11. Is Generic Cialis as Effective as Branded Cialis?

Yes, the generic equivalent of any medication

12. Are There Any Differences Between Cialis and Viagra?

Both Viagra and Cialis feature similar chemical constituencies and function in much the same way to allow men to overcome erectile difficulties. The primary difference between Cialis and Viagra is in how long they continue to be effective for the man.

Viagra can be effective for up to 4 hours after taking the medication, while Cialis has a much longer window of effectiveness – up to 36 hours.

13. What is the Standard Starting Dose for Cialis?

5mg is the standard starting dose for Cialis Daily, and 10mg is the standard starting dose for regular Cialis. Your physician make instruct you to move to a higher or lower dosage depending on your response to the medication.

14. Can I Order Cialis Online?

Yes, you can order Cialis online from Canada at better prices, or you can likely order Cialis online from your local pharmacy too. Be aware you will need to submit a valid prescription for your Cialis.

15. Can I Overdose on Cialis?

No, it is not possible to overdose on Cialis or any type of ED medication. However, it is important to remember that you should never take more than 1 Cialis pill in a 24-hour period.

16. Is it True that Grapefruit Can Not Be Eaten While Taking Cialis? If So, Why?

Yes, it is true that you cannot eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice when taking Cialis. This is because grapefruit contains certain enzymes that interact with an enzyme called CYP 3A4. What this enzyme does is break down medications, and the enzymes in grapefruit disable it to the point that the medication isn’t broken down and the man can experience skin redness, cold-like symptoms, headaches, memory problems, or muscle pain.

17. Is Cialis Safe for Heart Patients?

Use of Cialis is not recommended for anyone with unstable angina, a history of congestive heart failure, irregular heartbeat, high or low blood pressure, or a history of stroke.

18. Does Cialis Cure ED?

No, Cialis does not cure erectile dysfunction. It provides temporary relief from the condition by promoting increased blood flow response for the penis but this effect will wear off within a day and a half at the most. Erectile dysfunction is not a ‘curable’ condition. Improving your physical health, being in better cardiovascular condition, and maintaining a healthy body weight will likely reduce your erectile dysfunction.

19. Can Cialis Cause Back Pain?

Yes, it can cause back pain for some men. The reason for this is that the drug promotes vasoconstriction, which is the process by which blood vessels become narrower. This means that the pain can be felt anywhere in the body, but the muscles of the back are major ones that require plenty of unimpeded blood flow to function pain free.

20. Does Cialis Lower Blood Pressure?

Cialis does lower blood pressure in men taking it, but only very slightly. The only cause for concern will be if the man is also taking any nitrates medication, in which cases there will be the risk of sudden and severe blood pressure drops.

21. Does Cialis Shrink the Prostate?

Yes, Cialis does reduce the size of the prostate, and in fact I has been approved for off-label use as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (more commonly known as enlarged prostate).
