Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Children’s Allegra is a medicine that helps relieve allergy symptoms in kids ages 2 to 12. It treats symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes, which are common with allergic rhinitis or hay fever. Children’s Allegra contains an antihistamine that works by blocking histamine chemicals that cause these symptoms. It usually comes as a fruit-flavored liquid or orally disintegrating tablet. Unlike some allergy medicines, Children’s Allegra does not usually make children feel sleepy or affect their ability to concentrate

Children's Allegra is taken by mouth, either as tablets or a liquid suspension. The usual dosage for children ages 6 to 11 is 30 mg every 12 hours, with no more than 60 mg in 24 hours. Children ages 12 and older take 60 mg every 12 hours, up to 120 mg per day. Use the included dosing cup for liquid forms, shake the suspension well before use, and avoid taking it with fruit juice, as juices may lower the effectiveness. Always follow a healthcare professional’s instructions and read the product label for specific directions.
Children's Allegra contains the active ingredient Fexofenadine.
Avoid taking or using this medication if any of the following apply:
Children’s Allegra is generally well tolerated, with side effects varying by age group. In children ages 6 to 11, the most common side effects include cough, upper respiratory tract infections, fever, and ear infections, each occurring in more than 2% of children. Among younger children (ages 6 months to 5 years), vomiting, diarrhea, and sleepiness were most commonly reported. These reactions were generally mild and occurred at similar or lower rates than in the placebo group.
In older children and teens (ages 12 and up), headache, back pain, dizziness, and stomach discomfort were reported, especially at higher doses. Serious allergic reactions are rare but have been reported, including rash, hives, and swelling. Postmarketing experience has also included cases of insomnia, nervousness, and sleep disturbances.
