What is a Generic Drug?

Directions

Brexafemme comes in 150 mg tablets for oral use.

The instructions that are supplied with your Brexafemme prescription should be followed. Don't be afraid to reach out to your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you may have about the medication.

Recommended dosage:

Two tablets (300 mg) by mouth twice daily for one day. The two doses should be taken 12 hours apart. You may take Brexafemme with or without food. 

Be sure to take a pregnancy test and confirm a negative pregnancy before you start taking Brexafemme. 

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Brexafemme, ibrexafungerp, is a triterpenoid antifungal.

Contraindications

Avoid taking Brexafemme if you are pregnant.

Avoid taking Brexafemme if you are allergic to ibrexafungerp.

Cautions

  • Before you start taking Brexafemme, discuss the following with your doctor:
    • Any prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements you take
    • Your allergies
    • Your medical conditions
    • If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Harm to an unborn baby may occur with the use of Brexafemme. Effective birth control methods should be used while taking Brexafemme. 

Side Effects

Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and dizziness are the most common side effects of Brexafemme; however Brexafemme may cause other side effects as well. Immediately inform your doctor of any concerning or worsening side effects that may develop during your treatment with Brexafemme.
