What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Description

Alphagan P is prescription medicated eye drop for ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma treatment. It effectively prevents the risks associated with these eye conditions; vision loss, nerve damage, or blindness. Alphagan P eye drops work to lower pressure in the eye and limit the amount of fluid formed and allow better draining of existing eye fluid so that the buildup of pressure doesn’t occur to the same extent. This is a proven effective glaucoma medication and is effective for eye hypertension too, but is not suitable for use by children under 2 years of age.

You can buy Alphagan P eye drops with a doctor’s prescription at your local pharmacy, and Alphagan P generic will be the best value when you order medication online from Canada Drugs Direct.

Directions

The standard Alphagan P dosage is to apply these medicated eye drops three (3) times a day, but this medication should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor and indicated in your prescription.

  1. Tilt head back, look upward and pull down lower eyelid to form a pouch. Hold the dropper right above eye and insert one drop, as directed by your doctor.
  2. Look downward and close eyes gently for one (1) to two (2) minutes.
  3. Place one finger at the corner of your eye (near nose) and gently apply pressure. Don’t blink or rub your eye.
  4. Repeat all steps for the other eye if also being treated.

Dropper should not be rinsed and be sure to replace dropper cap back on bottle after every use.
