What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Description

Alocril is a prescription eye drop medication for itchy eyes resulting from allergic conjunctivitis. The active ingredient nedocromil sodium is effective for limiting the release of natural substances in your body responsible for allergic reactions in the eye and symptoms of itching, redness, and watering. It is used with a maintenance prevention approach that makes it important to administer these medicated allergy eye drops at the same time twice a day at 12-hour intervals exactly.

You can buy Alocril eye drops with a doctor's prescription at your local pharmacy, but the best Alocril eye drop price will be ordering medication online from Canada Drugs Direct.

Directions

  • Open dispenser bottle and ensure it is kept upright and that you don't allow the dropper tip to touch surfaces. Do not touch dispenser bottle tip with fingers.
  • Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull lower eyelid down to make a pouch.
  • Hold dropper directly above eye and apply one (1) drop in the lower eyelid.
  • Look downward and keep eye closed for one minute. Place finger at corner of your eye (near nose) and gently apply pressure to prevent medication from draining out. Avoid blinking or rubbing eye.
  • Repeat these steps for your other eye and if your dose is more than 1 drop.

Do not rinse dropper and replace the dropper cap after every use as well as keeping cap tightly closed

Repeat process every 12-hours as directed to apply Alocril dosage twice daily to both eyes.
