A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Aceon Plus (perindopril/indapamide) consists of two drugs. This combination is used to help treat high blood pressure.
Perindopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor; it works by widening your blood vessels to allow your blood to flow easier. Indapamide, a diuretic (water pill), works by helping your body rid itself of extra salt and water via urination.

Aceon Plus is generally taken by mouth one time a day. It is recommended to take the medication in the morning because Aceon Plus causes patients to urinate.
The active ingredients in Aceon Plus are perindopril, an ACE inhibitor, and indapamide, a diuretic (water pill).
If you have any allergies to other ACE inhibitors, thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, or to any of the other ingredients contained in Aceon Plus, avoid use.
If you have ever experienced swelling or an allergic reaction after taking an ACE inhibitor or a thiazide diuretic, notify your doctor.
Aceon Plus medication can cause tiredness, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, or dry cough; however, other side effects may also occur. Immediately talk to your doctor if you experience symptoms that bother you or do not reside.
