The standard Accuretic dosage is to take the medication once daily with or without food in the morning. It is best not to take Accuretic in the evening because it does cause increased urination. Try to take your hypertension medication at the same time each day.
Tell your doctor if you have had allergic reactions to any other ACE inhibitor medications before starting on Accuretic.
Also tell your doctor if you have any history of gout, kidney problems, liver disease, dehydration, untreated mineral imbalances (like high or low potassium), lupus, or skin cancer.
This medication may make you dizzy. It is best to limit or avoid any intoxicant substances while on the medication as this could make dizziness / disorientation worse.
HTCZ hypertensions medication can increase risk of dehydration, so it is a good idea to increase fluid intake while using Accuretic.
Medication may also increase skin sensitivity to sun. Be sure to use high-SPF sunscreen if in sun for prolonged periods and try to stay in the shade as much as possible.
Diabetics using Accuretic will want to monitor their blood sugar levels more regularly because medication can affect these levels.
There is the possibility of drug interaction risks between Accuretic and certain RX medications, including aliskiren / dofetilide / lithium / gold injections / sacubitril / everolimus / sirolimus / losartan / valsartan/ birth control pills containing drospirenone / quinolone antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin tetracycline antibiotics like doxycycline, minocycline / thyroid medications like levothyroxine / osteoporosis bisphosphonates like alendronate.
Accuretic side effects are uncommon, but some people may experience tiredness, headache, dizziness, or light headedness. If Accuretic side effects are seen, then stop using this medication and speak with your doctor again about hypertensions treatment options.
